2024 marked a historic breakthrough in Indian education technology with the official launch of the iSMART Humanoid AI Teaching Robot—a conversational AI classroom assistant. Designed and engineered by iSpark under R&D Project Manager Prathap R, iSMART combines facial recognition attendance, voice-driven interactive pedagogy in regional languages (including Tamil), and curriculum tutoring. The robot was officially unveiled at Al Ameen Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kumbakonam, in a momentous ceremony inaugurated by a NASA scientist, alongside Oxford MHSS, Koothanallur. In parallel, iSpark partnered with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) to inaugurate the VTU iSpark CoE Lab.
