The 2020 archive

In 2020, iSpark Learning Solutions was officially established in Anna Nagar West Extension, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Co-founded by industrial leader Joseph Varghese (Elenjikal Group & TCM Ltd) and robotics education veteran P. H. Mohanamurthy (inspired by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam), the organization was formed with a singular, resolute mission: 'Meaningful Education To All'. Recognizing that economic and geographical barriers prevent millions of Indian students from accessing 21st-century experiential education, iSpark laid the foundational blueprint for accessible school robotics labs, hands-on STEM curriculums, and practical maker pedagogy.

Founded in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, under the strategic guidance of Joseph Varghese and the technical vision of P. H. Mohanamurthy, who brought over three decades of engineering and robotics education expertise.

During a year marked by unprecedented global classroom closures, iSpark formulated its four-stage learning journey: Discover (School learners), Experiment (Young makers), Apply (Higher education), and Enable (Partner institutions).

The founding team engineered modular breadboard electronics kits and software simulation guides that allowed school children to explore circuitry safely without costly lab overheads.

Early pilot partnerships were signed with institutions across Chennai, establishing the groundwork for permanent on-campus STEM and robotics mentoring.
